Ford 8 &10 Hp Side Valve National Rally 2001

The Ford 8 & 10 Side Valve Club of Victoria would like to invite all owners of Ford 8 & 10 Hp powered vehicles to join them from the 2nd to 4th of March 2001 at Bendigo, Victoria, Australia, for the 'Goldfields Gathering' the Ford 8 &10 Hp Side Valve National Rally 2001.

The last National Rally held in Griffith, New South Wales, Australia attracted over 50 vehicles and international participants from the United Kingdom and the United States of America.

This rally will be in two parts the 'preamble rally' and the 'main rally'.

From the 23rd to 25th of February 2001 the 'Super Southern Swap' will be held in Ballarat with over 2000 sites. This is the largest automotive swap meet in the Southern Hemisphere.

The 'preamble rally' will begin on Monday morning the 26th of February 2001 in Ballarat, travelling to Castlemaine via Daylesford for the first nights stop. On the Tuesday we will travel to Echuca on the mighty Murray River. Wednesday we will enter the Goulburn Valley travelling to fruit growing city of Shepparton. On Thursday we will be heading to winery area of Nagambie. On Friday the rally will make its way to Bendigo for the start of the main rally.

The main rally will begin on the Friday night with participant registration and the official rally launch. Saturday will be spent touring the historic gold town of Bendigo. In the morning will take in the sights of the city via its famous talking trams. Then to Australia's oldest working pottery, followed a visit to a eucalyptus distillery. Dinner will be an informal event host by the Bendigo Car Club. On Sunday we will travel to historic Maldon via Castlemaine to take in the tourist attractions of Victoria's first notable town. Lunch will at the base of Mt.Tarrengower one of few still active hill climb tracks in the state. After lunch we will ride the rails to Muckleford powered by a steam locomotive. On returning to Bendigo the rally dinner will be held. On Monday morning breakfast will held on the shores of Lake Weeroona to conclude the rally.

The expression of interest form will be mailed during March 2000 to all participants of last National Rally held in Griffith in 1999.
